TRINCOMALEE
Sri Lanka
WHY TRINCOMALEE?
Trincomalee is a small town in the north-east of the island of Sri Lanka.
-
Sri Lanka has a culture very similar to southern India, but the place is different because it is less crowded and cleaner.
-
Well-connected to Europe: one of the closest Asian locations to Europe.
-
The civil war has just ended recently, so it is still low in traditional tourist facilities
-
The city of Trincomalee is well connected with Colombo: the road and the railway cross the whole island connecting directly Trincomalee and Colombo, plus there is an airport.
-
The weather here is drier than the southwest coast of the island.
-
The cost of living is very low.
-
This will be one of the places where we will let ourselves be flowed by what we find: we have decided not to book for the whole month so we will be open to advises and suggestions from people we meet.
